At Christmas, insurance companies see insurance claims that don’t occur at other times of the year because people do things in their home they don’t usually do. For example, one man burned his house down, and somehow managed to claim the damage on his home insurance policy. He attached candles to his Christmas tree.. Unsurprisingly, the tree caught fire before spreading to the rest of the house.
Then there was the one released by the British insurance firm, Lloyds Insurance, about the dog which ate the digital camera – they are small these days but small enough to eat?
Insurance is for the unforeseen and how could anyone have been expected to prepare for these types of events. It certainly highlights the need for good insurance policy and for making sure you are fully covered under your insurance policy.
